Bangor University is looking for commercial bass fishers to help them conduct a survey during the spawning season (Spring 2020). We wish to sample several areas in North and South Wales we have identified as potential spawning grounds with the hope of catching ripe bass, namely, North and West coast of Anglesey, North Wales coast from Great Ormes Head to the Dee Estuary, Tremadog Bay, South Pembrokeshire coast, Carmarthen Bay, Swansea Bay and the Outer Bristol Channel around Lundy North West to The Smalls.
To be eligible for this work you will need a license allowing you to catch bass and vessels must be able to record the GPS position of the catch. The University is looking for fishers with a proven track record of catching bass and good local knowledge of the areas to help them by fishing but also by providing fisher knowledge to prioritise sites to survey.
