SEAFOOD PRIORITY EXPORTS PROVISIONS/PROCESSES FOR THE ENGLISH CHANNEL

News from Defra - Prioritisation at the border

As set out in the DfT consultation, ‘Proposed legislative amendments on enforcing Operation Brock’, the Government has agreed that HGVs carrying single loads of live and/or fresh seafood for human consumption, or day-old chicks (DOCs) are prioritised through Operation Brock queues in Kent, as a contingency measure. This will enable priority exports to bypass traffic restrictions between Junction 8 & 9 on the M20, instead using the contraflow to progress towards the Port of Dover and Eurotunnel terminal.

Defra has worked with partners across government and the seafood sector to develop and test the operational plan for the scheme. Please find further detail and guidance here.
